MEET THE TEAM

Who Makes Scranton Girls Rock Happen?

Scranton Girls Rock is powered by a growing team of youth leaders, creative mentors, volunteers, and a dedicated Board of Directors who help guide our mission and ensure we’re building something sustainable, inclusive, and community-rooted.

Board of Directors

We are still growing, and as we grow, we’re actively working to build a more diverse and representative leadership team—one that reflects the strength and creativity of the Scranton community and the young people we serve. We’re currently seeking new Board members who are excited to support our mission and bring valuable skills to the table. If you have experience in any of the following areas, we’d especially love to hear from you:

🧾 Accounting & nonprofit finance – Help us stay organized, transparent, and sustainable
⚖️ Legal expertise – Assist with contracts, compliance, and nonprofit governance
📣 Marketing & communications – Help us spread the word, grow our audience, and tell our story
🎟️ Event planning & fundraising – Support our showcases, benefit events, and community celebrations
🤝 Community outreach & partnership building – Connect us to local schools, organizations, and neighborhoods

We're particularly excited to hear from individuals who bring lived experience as women, LGBTQ+ folks, people of color, working-class leaders, or individuals with disabilities, but all supporters who align with our values are welcome to reach out. If you're passionate about youth empowerment, gender justice, and creative community building, we’d love to connect.

📩 Reach out to us at scrantongirlsrock@gmail.com to learn more about what it means to serve on the Board.

Let’s build the future of Scranton Girls Rock—together.

YOUTH LEADERS

Youth Leaders at Scranton Girls RockAfter an incredible first year of camp, we're excited to take the next step in our growth—by building out a Youth Leadership Team. This is a powerful opportunity for teens to raise their voices, build real-world skills, and help shape the future of Scranton Girls Rock. Youth Leaders will play a key role in making sure our programs stay youth-driven, inclusive, and rooted in the needs of our community. They'll collaborate with staff and mentors, provide input on programming and events, and serve as ambassadors for what Scranton Girls Rock stands for.

Youth Leaders are:

- 14–18 years old by the start of the cohortPast participants in at least one Scranton Girls Rock program (or a Girls Rock program elsewhere)
- Passionate about creativity, community, and making positive change
- Youth Leaders work in small cohorts during the spring and fall semesters, dedicating about 10 hours per month to hands-on projects, mentorship, and skill-building in areas like leadership, communication, and team collaboration.

This isn’t just a leadership opportunity—it’s a chance to be part of something bigger, and to help guide what Scranton Girls Rock becomes next. Interested in applying or learning more? Reach out to us at scrantongirlsrock@gmail.com. Your voice matters—and we’re ready to hear it.
